Mr Gary Tan graduated from the Nanyang Technological University and the National Institute of Education of Singapore. He is also the recipient of the MOE Teaching Scholarship from the Ministry of Education, Singapore. Mr Gary Tan is also the current advisor to Microsoft Indonesia's Partners in Learning Programme
Prior to assuming his current role as Headmaster of Raffles International Christian School. Mr Tan was the vice principal of Crescent Girls' School, a top autonomous school in Singapore. In his tenure at Crescent Girls' School, the school catapulted from 20th position in the Academic Ranking in 2001 to the top 5 schools in 2007.
A seasoned educator, Mr Tan has been a school leader for more than 15 years and has brought tremendous impact to the institutions that he has helmed. He was the key driver in the BackPack.NET project that have placed Crescent Girls' School at the forefront of the educational technology roadmap. The school in close collaboration with industry partners such as, the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA), Microsoft Singapore and Fujitsu Asia Pacific became the first school in the world to bring the Tablet PCs into the hands of every student at Crescent Girls School & develop a highly personalized and dynamic learning environment that prepares students for the future.
Widely sought for his expertise, Mr Tan has shared his experiences and worked closely with many dignitaries and visitors from all over the world, such as the Vice Minister of Education, Thailand, Dubai Education Council and Mr Craig Mundie, CTO of Microsoft Corp. He was also part of the Schools of the Future Taskforce, School Based Curriculum Innovation and Prototyping Committee, I. T. Masterplan 2 Committee and presented at global conferences such as the Educational Research Association of Singapore Conference, International Conference on Computer Education, Microsoft Govt Leader's Forum in Singapore and Intel's Govt Leader's Forum in the Philippines.
Mr. Satyajeet Gurung was the Science Coordinator and Head of the Department in our School and has assumed the role of Deputy Headmaster with effect from 2009. He emphasises on application oriented learning wherein students are made confident in applying their learning to real life situations.
He graduated with a Bachelors degree from Rani Durgavati University Jabalpur (M.P), India, (subject: Chemistry, Botany, Zoology) in 1988.Followed by a Masters degree from Rani Durgavati University Jabalpur, (M.P), India, (subjects: Organic Chemistry) in 1993.He has also done his Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) in 1996.
Mr Satyajeet was also the recipient of the Teacher of the Year Award 2008. He has over 16 years of enriching teaching experience in various schools in India. He also taught Chemistry & Biology in Ahlulbayt I S, Kigoma, Tanzania, East Africa. Before joining RICS, he taught chemistry in R N Podar Senior Secondary School Santa Cruz (West) Mumbai, India which adopts the (CBSE) curriculum.
